Our representative will welcome you at Guatemala City’s international airport (GUA) and take you to your hotel in Antigua Guatemala, so you can immediately begin unwinding from the rush of daily life.

You will start the day with a delicious breakfast and excellent coffee while enjoying the spectacular views of the volcanoes surrounding the city. Our local guide will accompany you on a pleasant walk through the welcoming cobblestone streets, sharing the most relevant stories and facts that make visitors fall in love with this charming colonial town. After a lunch break, you will visit picturesque nearby villages, with plenty of opportunities to take beautiful photos. You will return to Antigua for overnight accommodation.

You will head into the mountains of the Mayan highlands, enjoying beautiful landscapes and an excellent traditional Guatemalan breakfast on the way to Chichicastenango, home to the largest and oldest Indigenous market in Central America. Our local Mayan guide will welcome you and share the most relevant aspects of the living Maya culture and the region. You will also have time to shop for handicrafts, take lovely family photos, and taste the local cuisine. In the afternoon, we will take you to the beautiful Lake Atitlán to visit the ‘Mayan Atlantis’ museum (the archaeological site of Samabaj, currently submerged).

Accomodation in Panajachel

You will sail across the beautiful Lake Atitlán to visit the picturesque village and cultural gem of San Juan La Laguna, full of life, color, and vibrant Mayan culture. You will ascend to the Kaqasiiwaan viewpoint (‘hill of the red man,’ the spiritual guardian of the community) to delight your soul with the best views of the lake and its volcanoes. Our Mayan guide will accompany you throughout the visit to help you fully enjoy the place, its people, and its cuisine. You will return to Panajachel around 5 pm for overnight accommodation.

You will visit the Méndez Montenegro viewpoint and the largest lavender field in Central America, where you can take spectacular photographs of Lake Atitlán, the volcanoes, and beautiful landscapes. Afterward, you will enjoy a cultural immersion with a Mayan family in Santa Catarina Palopó, where you will also prepare and taste delicious traditional dishes. You will return to Panajachel in the mid-afternoon for free time and overnight accommodation.

You will return to beautiful Antigua Guatemala, and along the way, accompanied by our Mayan guide, you will explore the ruins of the small Mayan city of Iximché (founded between 400 BC and 200 AD). This site served as the capital of the Maya‑Cakchiquel from 1470 until the arrival of the conquistadors, who established the first capital of Central America here in 1524, marking the birth of Guatemala and its rich cultural blend. The afternoon is free for rest, followed by an overnight stay in Antigua.

The Arabica coffee produced in Antigua Guatemala is considered one of the best in the world. Today you will visit a coffee plantation founded in 1883, where, in addition to enjoying nature while touring its productive area, you will also learn about the process of obtaining this essential beverage. You will also participate in a workshop to prepare chocolate with organic cacao, the currency of the ancient Maya. Free afternoon and overnight stay in Antigua.

Changing gears, you'll now do some hiking with our expert local guide, ascending to the summit of Pacaya Volcano (3-4 hour hike; moderately active volcano), where you can see active flows and fields of petrified lava. A snack is included during the hike, and you can even melt marshmallows!
In the heat of the lava! You will return for rest and accommodation in Antigua around 3:30pm.

“You will depart Antigua at 4 am toward Copán, in Honduras, and you’ll be able to sleep comfortably in the vehicle. Along the way, you will have technical stops for breakfast, drinks, restrooms, and to stretch your legs. You will arrive in Copán around midday, where you will explore its ruins and admire the beautiful Rosa Lila Temple. You will also visit the macaw (guacamayas) sanctuary before ending the day in the small town of Copán Ruinas for rest and overnight accommodation.

“You will continue your journey by visiting the small yet highly important archaeological site of Quiriguá, and afterward take a boat to Livingston, a Caribbean town known for its fascinating blend of cultures and ethnicities, its lush vegetation, and, of course, the Caribbean Sea. You will enjoy time to relax before settling in for your overnight stay in Livingston.

Once you’ve regained your strength, you will visit the Siete Altares waterfalls and then relax at Playa Blanca (snacks, lunch, and drinks included), before returning to Livingston in the mid‑afternoon for your overnight stay.

You will take the boat once again, this time to venture into the spectacular Río Dulce, following the route once taken by explorers and conquistadors, to visit the colonial fortress of Castillo de San Felipe, built in 1651 to repel pirate attacks. After a lunch break, we will transfer you by land to Flores, in the northern part of the country, for your overnight stay.

At last, the day has arrived for the unmissable exploration of the legendary Mayan ruins of Tikal, a site so important to world archaeology that it defines the three major periods used to study all Mesoamerican civilizations. You will not only admire its impressive architecture and the remarkable achievements of this ancient culture, but also enjoy walking through the jungle and observing up close a variety of exotic plants and animals, including coatis, spider monkeys, howler monkeys, and dozens of bird and insect species. Our local guide will ensure you fully enjoy this journey back into the glorious past of the Maya civilization. A restorative picnic lunch surrounded by the rainforest is included, and of course, you will have countless opportunities to take beautiful photographs and create unforgettable memories with your loved ones. You will return to your hotel in Flores around 5 pm for rest and overnight accommodation.

You will continue the adventure in the ancient world of the Maya, now visiting Yaxhá and its ceremonial center Topoxté, located on a small island in the adjacent lagoon. In the afternoon, you will visit the small settlement of Tayasal, last Mayan stronghold to be conquered, following the same route Hernán Cortés took in 1525. Accommodation in Flores again.

This morning, you will have free time to relax and recharge in the Flores area, and in the afternoon, you will fly to Guatemala City for your overnight stay.

Our local guide will take you on a historical and panoramic tour along the main avenues, heading toward the Historic Center, the epicenter of our country’s modern history and culture. You will visit places of great interest, such as the National Palace of Culture and the unmissable Central Market, where you can enjoy delicious traditional dishes. In the afternoon, we will take you to Ciudad Cayalá, a modern yet charming commercial, cultural, and gastronomic complex, as well as to the Oakland Place shopping center for some leisure time before heading to your hotel to rest, pack your bags, and spend your last night in the country.

Transfer to La Aurora International Airport (GUA) to take the flight out of the country.
